RN Labor and Delivery Seasonal
Status: 13-week seasonal contract – PRN, Nights. Schedule: Full-time, 3×12-hour day shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM).
About the Role
Our Labor and Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high-acuity patients. The leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.
Patient Population: Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation.
Facilities: 10 Labor and Delivery suites, 4 obstetrical emergency beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU beds, 5 high-risk antepartum beds.
Responsibilities
- Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
- Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
- Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
- Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
- Align with the nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, and implement care plans. Monitor patient progress.
- Help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications.
Requirements
- A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years L&D RN experience.
- A valid Registered Nurse license.
- Ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

- Comprehensive knowledge of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care.
- Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care.
- Flexibility and excellent communication for sharing changes in patient health conditions promptly and efficiently.
