RN Labor and Delivery

About the Role
The RN is responsible for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for both recipients and providers of nursing care
- Acquiring specialized knowledge, skills, and additional formal education to provide specialized care
- Demonstrating and validating competence in nursing practice
- Ensuring clinical practice aligns with the policies, procedures, and standards of the facility
- Supervising other staff as designated within the department
Requirements
- Texas State RN license or compact license required
- ADN required; BSN preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS preferred within 6 months
- Specialty Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) preferred
- Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of prior completion of the AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course
- 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred
