RN Labor and Delivery
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Labor & Delivery RN to join our team at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. In this role, you will provide care and treatment to obstetric patients in our patient-centered care model, making clinical assessments and managing treatment autonomously. You’ll be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
- Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Analyze the assessment data to determine the diagnosis or issues
- Evaluate the obstetrical patient for any situation that may compromise the well-being of mother and fetus
- Participate in routine delivery as well as planned or emergent Cesarean Sections
- Act as an advocate for patient safety
- Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment
- Educate patients regarding their medications, procedures, and treatments, providing support to patients and their families throughout their stay
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, multistate, or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
- 1 year of RN experience in Labor & Delivery
- BSN is preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor must be obtained prior to employment start date
