RN Labor and Delivery
Job Summary
You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will provide individualized, comprehensive care, make critical assessments, perform skilled procedures, and implement patient care plans. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way, incorporating differences into the provision of care.
- Incorporates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, including patient and family education.
- Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data and formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients, including patient education and discharge planning.
- Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes.
- Administers prescribed medications and intravenous solutions according to standards of care and hospital protocols.
- Affirms pain levels in all patients using a "0-10" or other approved scale to promote comfort and enable patients to participate in their healing. Provides timely/appropriate assessment/intervention. Identifies comfort function goals with patients.
- Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs.
- Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs, adapting standards and guidelines for individual patients.
Requirements
- Associate of Nursing or nursing diploma
- Six months of recent L&D hospital experience, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire
- PREFERRED: Bachelors of Nursing, upon hire
