Essential Functions

• Facilitates an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
• Prepares patient for physician visit: obtains and documents appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)
• Clinical duties may include: Checks vital signs, Give injections (including immunizations), Medication administration, breathing treatments, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures, Distributes/educates regarding home spacers and nebulizers
• Determines and documents necessary patient information
• Laboratory testing may include: Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture), documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting and telephone and walk-in triage
• Aids patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit
• Aids with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
• Checks and maintains Crash Cart chart
• Performs excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents
• Works closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program (required)

Experience

• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience (required)
• Experience in a physician’s office or hospital setting (required)
