RN Infection Control Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator

About the role

Lead the facility's infection prevention and control program through surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with infection control regulations by monitoring practices, investigating outbreaks, and implementing corrective actions. Develop and deliver staff education, orientation, and ongoing clinical training to support regulatory compliance and quality care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs, promote best practices, and improve resident outcomes. Maintain infection control records, monitor trends, and serve as a clinical resource for infection prevention and staff development.

Schedule

  • Full-Time | 40hrs per week
  • Monday – Friday | 8:00AM – 4:00PM
  • On-Call every 4th weekend

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered CT or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • 2+ years prior experience in infection prevention and control, staff development, and regulatory compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) standards preferred
  • ICP certification preferred
  • Current CPR certifications, including BLS RN
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written
