Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee CNA training, orientation, and competency evaluations
- Coach, mentor, and provide educational support to nursing assistants, licensed nurses, and other clinical staff
- Conduct skills validations, audits, and follow-up evaluations to support staff development and regulatory compliance
- Maintain training records, competency documentation, and educational materials
- Lead nurse and CNA onboarding, orientation, and ongoing education programs
- Conduct rounds to provide coaching and identify opportunities for clinical improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, surveys, and staff education activities
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to address training needs, performance concerns, and clinical best practices
- Support QAPI initiatives and promote compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting; 3-5 years preferred
- A valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License
- An associate's degree in nursing; a bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred
- Strong teaching, coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of staff development, infection control practices, and long-term care regulations
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
