About the Role
Join our team in Morristown, NJ, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a high-acuity Step Down Unit (SDU) and make a significant impact on patient care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care across all stages of growth and development, from Pediatric to Geriatric.
- Perform thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments.
- Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide appropriate nursing care.
- Support patient care delivery and team concept, and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation, following guidelines and assuming primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process.
- Show professional practice responsibility, understanding policies and procedures, and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
- Respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous, and positive manner, promoting a patient-centered environment.
- Follow National Patient Safety Goals, use safe transfer techniques, and ensure proper body mechanics for self and patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment, and individualize patient care accordingly.
- Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on needs and changes in condition.
- Assess patient understanding of procedures and actively include them and family members in teaching.
- Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness (duties specific to PAT RN).
Requirements
- 1 year ICU experience
- RN License
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
Schedule
7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
This position requires ICU experience as it is a high-acuity SDU.
