About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in the ICU, adhering to department-specific requirements and state/specialty scope and standards. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." As an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, you will model the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clarity.
• Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and healthy habits.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
• Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote recovery.
• Serve as a voice in shaping patient care decisions through collaborative relationships and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date).
