SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Level II Trauma Mixed Intensive Care Unit provides comprehensive, high-acuity care for critically ill adult patients within a 16-bed, Level II Trauma, mixed Medical/Trauma/Surgical ICU. The RN manages patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, circulatory assist devices, and complex multisystem interventions. Using evidence-based practice and strong clinical judgment, the RN delivers safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced trauma-capable environment. The unit supports a diverse, high-acuity patient population and is also recognized as an environment supportive and preparatory for future and aspiring CRNAs, offering exposure to advanced airway, hemodynamic, and critical care concepts.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associates degree in Nursing required.
• BSN degree preferred or must agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five years.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required.
• BLS required.
• Previous medical surgical experience preferred.
• Must be computer proficient and have excellent customer service skills.
• Experience
• Minimum two years' work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical type unit (for the Med/Surg Pool)
• Minimum two years' work experience as an RN in an ICU or Critical Care unit (for the Critical Care Pool)
