RN - ICU
About the role
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Tradition Hospital sees patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries and complex medical conditions. When providing critical care, nothing is more important than teamwork. As an RN, you will work alongside dedicated CTs, TCCs, RNs, physicians and other caregivers to ensure patients receive the best possible emergency attention and constant monitoring throughout treatment. In this role, you can leave a meaningful impact on patients, their families and the community every day.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross.
- One year of current critical care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
- Completion of a Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of critical care nursing practices and protocols.
