What You'll Help With

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families to develop and revise care plans as needed.
Administer treatments and medications accurately and document using electronic medical records (EMR).
Identify and address the educational needs of patients and caregivers, incorporating these into the care plan and documenting accordingly.
Participate in performance improvement activities and act as a patient advocate, protecting patient rights and providing psychological, social, and cultural support.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in managing patient care, reducing length of stay, turnaround time, and resource consumption, and improving patient outcomes.
Manage resources, establish priorities, and modify the work environment to meet patient care needs.
Facilitate resolution to patient and personnel situations through problem-solving methods.
Provide feedback to staff and participate in unit, hospital, and system activities to enhance staff participation and decision-making.
Support the orientation of new employees and assist in providing education activities for the unit/department.
What We Require
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one.
- Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required, may require additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.
- Computer Skills: Required for EMR (EPIC).
Compensation
