Responsibilities

• Reviews staffing and census of all nursing units to ensure consistency with budget and patient needs, adjusting staff as necessary.
• Facilitates patient admissions and patient flow.
• Makes frequent rounds throughout the hospital to assess and resolve issues and incidents.
• Provides consultation to staff as needed.
• Promotes good interpersonal relations between all departments.
• Aids staff in obtaining equipment and supplies as needed.
• Provides crisis intervention for all hospital departments.
• Responds to and leads all code events.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Basic computer skills
• Previous nursing management experience (preferred)
• Previous experience with Cerner electronic medical record (preferred)

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing (required)
• Bachelor's of Nursing (preferred)
• 3+ years experience in acute patient care (required)
• Critical Care or Emergency Department experience (preferred)

Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) (required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) (required)
