RN House Supervisor PRN Days

Schedule

• Shift Type: PRN
• Days: Vary based on facility needs

Responsibilities

• Reviews staffing and census of all nursing units to ensure consistency with budget and patient needs, adjusting staff as necessary.
• Facilitates patient admissions and patient flow.
• Makes frequent rounds throughout the hospital to assess and resolve issues and incidents.
• Provides consultation to staff as needed.
• Promotes good interpersonal relations between all departments.
• Affords assistance to staff in obtaining equipment and supplies as needed.
• Provides crisis intervention for all hospital departments.
• Responds to and leads all code events.
• Affords assistance in handling emergency surgery by contacting Surgical Services and Cardiac Cath Lab staff on call.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills.
• Previous nursing management experience (preferred).
• Previous experience with Cerner electronic medical record (preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing (required).
• Bachelor's of Nursing (preferred).
• 3+ years experience in acute patient care (required).
• Critical Care or Emergency Department experience (preferred).

Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) (required).
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) (required).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) (required).
