RN House Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the facility wide nursing supervisor on an assigned shift.
  • Directs and evaluates nursing services provided.
  • Knowledgeable of CMS/TJC and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Conducts rounds of the facility to inspect patient care and treatment.
  • Supervises and trains nursing staff.
  • Reconciles employee monthly time records.
  • Coaches, mentors, and performs other related duties.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory practices and standards.
  • Introductory knowledge of management principles and techniques as applied to nursing administration.
  • Ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
  • Assess patients with mental or physical illness and/or developmental and physical disabilities, make nursing diagnoses, and formulate nursing care plans.
  • Direct and administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions and nursing interventions.
  • Observe, recognize, and identify deviations in the conditions of patients.
  • Work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and their family members.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university OR a Bachelor's degree of Nursing from an accredited college or university AND One of more year(s) of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Diploma in Nursing AND Two or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
