Responsibilities
- Serves as the facility wide nursing supervisor on an assigned shift.
- Directs and evaluates nursing services provided.
- Knowledgeable of CMS/TJC and other regulatory guidelines.
- Conducts rounds of the facility to inspect patient care and treatment.
- Supervises and trains nursing staff.
- Reconciles employee monthly time records.
- Coaches, mentors, and performs other related duties.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory practices and standards.
- Introductory knowledge of management principles and techniques as applied to nursing administration.
- Ability to supervise, evaluate, and instruct professional and paraprofessional nursing staff.
- Assess patients with mental or physical illness and/or developmental and physical disabilities, make nursing diagnoses, and formulate nursing care plans.
- Direct and administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions and nursing interventions.
- Observe, recognize, and identify deviations in the conditions of patients.
- Work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and their family members.
Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university OR a Bachelor's degree of Nursing from an accredited college or university AND One of more year(s) of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
- An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Diploma in Nursing AND Two or more years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
