About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate, organized, and confident RN House Supervisor to help guide our nursing team and ensure exceptional care for our residents. Pay

  • Starting at $38/hour, based on experience
  • +$4/hour Weekend Shift Differential

Schedule

  • Four 10-hour shifts each week
  • Alternating weekends

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and clinical oversight for nursing staff
  • Ensure residents receive exceptional, compassionate care
  • Support and mentor nurses, CNAs, and other clinical team members
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and daily operations
  • Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns professionally
  • Provide clinical support during emergencies and complex situations
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
  • Promote a positive, team-focused culture throughout the building
  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during your tour of duty in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities
  • Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures for the nursing service department
  • Ensure reference materials (e.g., PDRs, regulations, professional standards) are current
  • Ensure compliance with Nursing Service Procedures Manual
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director concerning the operation of the nursing service department
  • Periodically review department policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions; recommend revisions
  • Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services
  • Ensure nursing service personnel comply with their respective job descriptions
  • Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
  • Review and update residents’ written discharge plans as required
  • Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan department services, programs, and activities
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
  • Interpret department policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies
  • Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting
  • Attend various committee meetings (e.g., Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Quality Assessment)
  • Ensure a sufficient number of licensed practical and/or registered nurses and certified nursing assistants are available for your tour of duty
  • Develop work assignments and delegate administrative authority to Charge Nurses
  • Make daily rounds to ensure nursing service personnel perform work assignments according to acceptable nursing standards
  • Monitor absenteeism to ensure adequate staffing
  • Review complaints and grievances made by department personnel
  • Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-department personnel
  • Meet with your shift regularly to identify and correct problem areas
  • Review and evaluate department work force; make recommendations to the Director
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing requirement determinations
  • Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, room assignments, and resident arrivals
  • Make rounds with physicians as necessary and encourage timely documentation
  • Consult with residents, families, and physicians in planning care, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Notify attending physician and next-of-kin of changes in resident condition
  • Visit residents daily to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status
  • Ensure direct nursing care is provided by qualified personnel
  • Review nurses’ notes for informativeness and compliance with resident wishes
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary (e.g., start IVs, obtain specimens, take vitals)
  • Authorize the use of restraints when necessary and in accordance with facility policies
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for compliance
  • Review medication cards for completeness of information

Requirements

  • Current RN license in good standing in the state of SC
  • Previous nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
