Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled nursing care and support to hospice patients throughout the assigned Corpus Christi, Texas service area. The RN will provide clinical care, respond to patient needs, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate services to promote comfort and quality of life.

Schedule

  • Coverage Areas: Corpus Christi, TX — 60-mile radius from the office
  • Weekend coverage: Friday, 4:30 PM - Monday, 8:00 AM
  • On-Call Requirement: After-hours weekend — Primary Nurse On-Call
  • Weekend Requirement: Every weekend
  • Mileage Reimbursement: Yes

Pay

$51.00 - $53.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients, assess patient conditions, manage symptoms, and provide comfort-focused care in accordance with individualized care plans and physician orders.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medications, symptom management, the hospice plan of care, and available support services.
  • Respond to patient and caregiver needs during after-hours and weekend coverage while communicating changes in condition to physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate care with the hospice team to ensure continuity of care and compliance with hospice regulations and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel throughout the assigned 60-mile coverage area.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based hospice setting.
  • Availability to provide weekend and after-hours coverage from Friday at 4:30 PM through Monday at 8:00 AM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hospice nursing experience.
  • Previous travel nursing experience.
  • Experience providing after-hours or on-call hospice nursing care.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice care practices, symptom management, and end-of-life care.
  • Excellent patient and caregiver education and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
