About the role
This position involves providing direct nursing care to patients and families outside the hospital, primarily in a home healthcare setting. The nurse will coordinate activities, ensure policy compliance, and deliver comprehensive care across diverse age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical, psychological, social, and environmental needs to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and supervise ancillary staff to meet treatment goals.
- Monitor patient responses, report changes, and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Interpret agency policies, utilize community resources, and educate patients and families.
- Maintain effective relationships with patients, families, healthcare teams, and community partners.
- Follow safety protocols, identify risks, and report safety concerns or errors promptly.
- Promote patient safety and encourage patient participation in care decisions.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and education activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred.
- At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
- Current RN licensure in NM or eligible through reciprocal agreement.
- CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to perform sedentary work involving sitting, walking, and brief periods of standing.
- Work environment involves minimal hazards and adheres to safety protocols.
