Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $44.00 - $49.50 per hour
- Status: Full time overnight RN
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts
- Required to work rotating weekends including one off shift per week to ensure program coverage
- Minimum holiday requirement: 1 major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) and 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day / night shift: New Year's Eve); other holidays rotated among staff
- This position is deemed essential and will be required to work during inclement weather
- For sites with multiple programs, you may be required to work in any of the programs based on staffing needs
Qualifications
Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Must have an active, in-good-standing RN license valid in the state in which clinical will practice. Must also possess current CPR Certification.
Experience:
- RN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience
- RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty
- RN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty
Responsibilities
- Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation
- Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests
- Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation
- Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy
- Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
- Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment
- Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation
- Assist in the facilitation of special events, including but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events
- Implement health seminars, including but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
- Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed
- Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices
- Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance
- Maintain RN license with good standing
- Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee
