  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts
  • Required to work rotating weekends including one off shift per week to ensure program coverage

Qualifications

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Must have an active, in-good-standing RN license valid in the state in which clinical will practice. Must also possess current CPR Certification.

Experience:

  • RN 1: May be recent graduate of approved nursing school with up to one (1) year experience
  • RN 2: Two (2) to five (5) years nursing experience, with one (1) year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty
  • RN 3: Five (5) or more years nursing experience, with two (2) years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with established program policies and state regulation
  • Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to secure complete physical examinations, as well as required additional health screenings and supplemental tests
  • Administer medications, as well supervise the self-administered medications, where appropriate and allowed by regulation
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records of same in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy
  • Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management etc.
  • Ensure that clients have appropriate medical coverage to guarantee safety, adequate care, and provider compliance for payment
  • Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation
  • Assist in the facilitation of special events, including but not limited to: staff training, staff retreat, workshops and facility events
  • Implement health seminars, including but not limited to: HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health, etc.
  • Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed
  • Implement and assure adherence to infection control policies and practices
  • Provide education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance
  • Maintain RN license with good standing
  • Other related duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or designee
