About the role

The registered nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for an assigned number of patients under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager. Patient assignments are determined by patient census and current staffing levels, reviewed on a shift-to-shift basis. Assignments to other patient care units may be required based on census and staff levels.

The nurse will be assigned up to 40 hours per week and will rotate between day and night shifts according to the needs of the unit and staff. The role includes assisting with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.

Responsibilities

• Function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
• Work and relate professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Document total care provided, review and maintain patient charts per policy.
• Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Work under the general supervision of the Ambulance Department Head, using the Pre-Hospital and ACLS process.

Requirements

• Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Attendance at yearly mandatory education requirements is non-negotiable; the employee is responsible for arranging and attending sessions.
