About the Role

The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. Assignments will be made based on current staffing needs, and the nurse will rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility. The role requires functioning independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Document total care given and maintain patient charts per policy.
• Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), Nurse Manager, staff, physicians, administrators, and peers.
• Promote teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and ancillary departments.
• Function professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Fulfill yearly mandatory education requirements, including assigned HealthStream sessions.
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.

Requirements

• Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Attendance at yearly mandatory education sessions is non-negotiable and the responsibility of the employee.
