About the role
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano is seeking a RN Float to join our dynamic team. This position requires at least 2.5 years of acute care hospital experience and offers the opportunity to learn and grow in a state-of-the-art facility.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop personalized care plans for desired outcomes.
- Create a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on health promotion, risk reduction, and illness prevention.
- Delegate interventions to team members based on patient condition and team abilities.
- Evaluate and record learning progress, working with the team and community to implement care plans and delegate tasks as needed.
- Solve problems efficiently, utilizing resources effectively, and acknowledging their limitations.
- Seek and contribute to professional development opportunities and community service.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program or have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in acute care hospitals.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain one within 30 days of starting.
Qualifications
- BSN degree preferred but not required; BSWH may pay for selected certifications upfront.
- National Nursing Certification preferred but not required.
- Achieve ACLS certification and complete post-hire if needed.
- Experience in multi-disciplinary rounds, shared governance, and educational opportunities like leveling up and self-scheduling.
- Positive attitude towards teamwork, patient safety, and zero harm culture.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good grasp of general computer skills.
