RN Float Pool

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool at Parkridge East Hospital, you will perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. You will utilize therapeutic communication, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, and identify nursing problems related to individual patient needs. The role involves planning individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach, participating in performance improvement activities, and coordinating care that aligns with the hospital’s mission and vision. When acting as charge nurse, you will oversee day-to-day activities, ensure quality patient care, make staff assignments based on patient need and acuity, serve as a clinical resource, and respond to requests for information or follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs, and carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.

About the Facility

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge, providing a full range of medical and surgical services, including orthopedics, robotic surgery, and a 24/7 Emergency Department. The ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care, complex gynecological procedures, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with specialized providers such as neonatologists, neonatal nurses, and respiratory therapists on-site at all times.
