RN Float Pool

About the Role

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse in the Float Pool at Lakeview Hospital, you will provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and nursing care to each patient based on the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. You will work to provide patients with an individualized care plan through assessment and planning. Our team supports each other like family, and we are looking for someone who values patient care as much as we do.

You will provide support to the Float Pool to fill in for ill calls, times of high census, or to cover for leaves of absence. You will float to all nursing units where competencies have been completed, including at minimum Med/Surg, Behavioral Health, and Ortho Spine, with opportunities to grow into Progressive Care/ICU. You will take patients and function in full capacity on each assigned nursing unit.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document each patient’s response to medication, interventions, and procedures.
• Formulate and coordinate individualized patient care plans based on assessment of patient needs.
• Keep patients and/or significant others informed of the plan of care.
• Maintain patient safety during all aspects of nursing intervention and document safety measures in the patient’s medical record.
• Provide care in collaboration with the patient/family, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences.
• Develop and implement patient care plans, including problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
• Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

Requirements

• Current State of Utah Registered Nurse license or RN Compact license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
• Any other certification/training required by the department in which you are floating.
• Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• At least one year of medical/surgical acute hospital experience.
