RN First Assistant
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Operating Room, this position assists surgeons in leading the operative procedure. It is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. For RNs seeking to become RNFA trained and certified, a reimbursable training program is available.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing required.
- Current licensure as an RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course that conforms to the Core Curriculum set forth by AORN required.
- Five (5) years diversified peri-operative nursing experience with both scrubbing and circulating proficiency required.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- American College of Surgeons Certified First Assistant (ACS-CFA) certification required.
