RN First Assist - Operating Room

The RN First Assist (RNFA) provides perioperative nursing support by assisting surgeons during general and specialized surgeries, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities Include Assisting in surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding, suturing, draping, and tissue handling.Preparing patients and surgical supplies, monitoring vital signs, and supporting intra-operative needs.Administering medications and performing post-operative assessments to identify complications.Educating patients and families on procedures and aftercare.Participating in research and maintaining efficient, cost-effective OR operations. Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure.Certification as a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).Completion of an accredited RNFA program and at least 2 years of perioperative nursing experience.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Skills And Attributes Include Independent practice in perioperative assessment and post-op care.Ability to scrub and circulate as needed.Strong collaboration skills with surgical teams.Organizational skills to manage supplies and maintain efficient OR flow.
