RN Evening Unit Supervisor

Island Park, NY – Full-time Evening Shift, Monday to Friday

About the role

Excellent opportunity for New Grad Registered Nurses to gain clinical experience in gerontological nursing. Up to $2,500.00 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Use nursing judgement and knowledge of gerontological nursing to set priorities and make decisions.
• Meet nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
• Implement physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform standard nursing treatments and observe resident for desired and unwanted effects.
• Assess and implement residents’ care plans when conditions warrant a change as necessary.
• Complete care plans and other documents as assigned.
• Comply with the confidentiality of all resident information as per HIPAA and corporate guidelines.
• Supervise, direct, and/or provide resident care when assigned.
• Establish personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons as a representative of the facility.
• Provide support to patients, friends, and families.
• Provide information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.
• Resolve patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Maintain documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.

Requirements

• Active/unrestricted NYS Registered Nurse License.
• Excellent clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to make good independent decisions.
• Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

$55.00 - $60.00 per hour
