RN ER Mixed Shift
About the role
The Registered Nurse at Lakeview Hospital coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Responsibilities
- Affords patients/families/caregivers individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."
- Serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
- Affords patients/families/caregivers regular assessments of pain to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and resolves them proactively.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
- Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes.
- Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
- Nurse Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- (RN) Registered Nurse.
- Associate Degree.
- One or more years of ER RN experience strongly preferred.
- In lieu of ER experience, multiple years of higher acuity hospital RN experience required.
