About the role

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is seeking experienced and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurses to join their Level I Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care for adult and pediatric patients
• Work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, and support teams
• Participate in shared governance, department councils, and improvement initiatives
• Build skills in Stroke and STEMI activations
• Career path and specialty certification support

Requirements

• Current Texas RN license or compact license
• Previous Emergency Department experience of 1 year minimum
• Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
• Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Grad of an Accredited RN Program
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Emergency Room Care

Skills

• Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures
• Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care applicable to the area of assignment
• Knowledge of medical terminology; principles and practices of health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention and management; medications and drugs, common dosages, their physical and physiological effects, and possible adverse reactions
• Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights
