RN Enterostomal Therapist

About the role

Assesses and treats human responses to actual and potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive or restorative of life and well-being. Executes medical regimens prescribed by a licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under the NYS Education Department and in accordance with NYS Department of Health regulations. Adheres to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter
• American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter
• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing required upon hire (those hired into the position prior to 3/12/2024 at BGMC that do not presently hold BSNs will be grandfathered)
• Effective 3/12/2024 all newly hired or transferred employees must have one of the following Specialty Certifications within 1 year of hire/transfer into the position: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON), or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN). Certification will be maintained thereafter.
• Those employees at BGMC who hold their BSN but do not presently hold a CWOCN, CWON or CWCN certification will have until 9/12/2024 to obtain it
• Those hired into the position prior to 3/12/2024 at BGMC who do not have their BSN, may hold a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS). Those Employees at BGMC will need to obtain the CWS certification no later than 9/12/2024. Certifications will be maintained thereafter.

Pay

Salary Range: $45.08 - $57.69 per hour. Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
