ENTEROSTOMAL THERAPIST

About the role

The WOC (ET) nurse provides acute and rehabilitative care to patients with selected gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems disorders. This includes direct patient care for abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, and continence skin care. The WOC (ET) nurse also plays a pivotal role as educator and consultant, giving guidance to promote optimal patient outcomes for ostomy, wound, and skin issues.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care for abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, and continence skin care.
• Assesses patient needs and develops individualized care plans.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Trains patients and families on ostomy, wound, and skin care management.
• Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as necessary.
• Contributes to research and clinical trials related to ostomy, wound, and skin care.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Florida RN license.
• Experience in wound care, ostomy care, and skin care preferred.
• Knowledge of ostomy, wound, and skin care principles and techniques.
• Ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Passion for oncology and patient care.

Skills

• Wound Care Certification (WCC).
• Ostomy Care Certification (OCC).
• Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Treatment Certification (PUPC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Pay

Salary Range: $82,934.80 - $126,427.60
