About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.

Schedule

Full-time, rotating day/mid-shift: 7am–7pm / 11am–11pm, every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patients' care.
  • Implements and/or administers all prescribed testing, medications, and/or protocols in compliance with established standards, ensuring all pertinent patient/family education is provided.
  • Develops, updates, and coordinates the patient’s plan of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Performs and maintains currency of essential competencies as required by the specific area of hire and population served.
  • Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
  • Fosters a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team, including students.
  • Facilitates formal and informal learning for patients/families, nursing, other healthcare team members, and the community.
  • Aligns practice with safety and quality by identifying and correcting problems, integrating evidence and best practices, and using data to improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensures patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety are equally prioritized for best outcomes.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development, practicing at the top of license within legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty standards.
  • Promotes a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates, and disseminates research and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrates leadership as a change agent using collaborative skills of advocacy, influence, and innovation.
  • Partners with colleagues to appropriately delegate, coordinate care, and collaborate as equal members of the inter-professional care team.
  • Models professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession.
  • Participates in the planning and presentation of educational programs.
  • Proficiency in information technology, including electronic health records, communication systems, computers, and equipment necessary for essential functions.
  • Works effectively with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff.
  • Uses independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
  • Manages multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations effectively.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment.
  • At least one year of experience as an RN, or transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program with less than one year of experience.
  • BSN in Nursing preferred; any previously agreed-upon effective date for obtaining a BSN remains in effect, including for those transitioning from the NLRN Program.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification is unit dependent.

Pay

$38.34 – $54.80 per hour.
