Responsibilities

• Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
• Stay abreast of trends, developments, and regulatory requirements impacting nursing practice.
• Administer, oversee, and document medication administration (topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, and intravenously) as ordered by healthcare practitioners and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assess patients to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs.
• Gather relevant data for patient care, implement appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Plan care based on initial and ongoing assessments, providing holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care.
• Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care provision.
• Apply knowledge and skills specific to the patient populations served by the department.
• Engage in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate self-accountability for meeting mandatory requirements.
• Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process in accordance with organizational standards.
• Receive, assess, and ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• New graduates or RNs without E.D. or Critical Care experience must successfully complete the E.D. residency program.
• Active Registered Nurse license in Washington state upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) – CPR.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of related work experience in an acute care setting.
• Previous Emergency Department (E.D.) experience within the last 2 years.
• Critical care experience within the last 2 years.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential.

Pay

$47.83 - $91.72 per hour.
