Our 500+ bed hospital is a leading acute care facility in the Salem area, specializing in heart and vascular care, orthopedics and spine care, mental and behavioral health, and cancer care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental, state, and specialty standards.
• Collaborate with medical providers and care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."
• Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and address patient needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures using clear, non-technical language.
• Teach non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and self-management techniques.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management of their care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

No prior experience or travel is required.
