About the role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Emergency Room, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s).
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs, resolving them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
  • Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • No travel required
  • No prior experience required
