RN Emergency Department PRN

This position is for a PRN Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at our Medical Center in Baker City, Oregon, located off the La Grande‑Baker Hwy just below the Elkhorn Mountains.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on patient care while collaborating with colleagues, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing resources wisely.
• Serve as a patient advocate by promoting patients’ physical, spiritual, and emotional well‑being.
• Educate patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and develop care plans based on patient needs.
• Manage a six‑bed unit in the ED primarily caring for trauma and stroke patients.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon (Oregon State Board of Nursing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network required at hire.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire (unless already certified at hire).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN acute care experience, preferably with high‑acuity or critical care patient population.
