As an RN on the Emergency Department team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacting directly with patients and their families to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

Schedule

This position works nights from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, including every 3rd weekend and 2 holidays per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care
• Implement and monitor patient care plans
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs
• Educate patients and their families

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the AHA or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• One year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
• Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects (physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work)

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

The pay range for new hires is $35.50 to $55.60 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions).
