RN Educator - Nursing Institute
About the role
As a Registered Nurse – Educator, your in-depth knowledge and outstanding communication skills are key in fostering quality care, enhanced wellness, and ongoing growth and development throughout Rochester Regional.
Responsibilities
- Evaluation: Identify and validate the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys, and course evaluation results; document the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring, and assessing competencies; analyze cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources.
- Development: Create educational programs and curriculum that promote quality healthcare, employee/patient growth, and personal wellness; provide leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer; develop communications and audio-visual materials that are clear and concise.
- Implementation: Facilitate programs to meet the identified learning needs of customers; provide in-depth orientation, in-service, and continuing education for staff or patients.
Attributes
- In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years of prior training/teaching experience in related educational field.

Qualifications
Required
- Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- For Diabetes Education: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or achievement of CDE status within two years of the start date in the position.
- For Wound Care: National Certification from Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) or Wound Care Certification (WCC) from NAWCO.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, health education, or instructional development, or an equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year prior training/teaching experience.
- At least 6 months RN experience.
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

Pay
Pay Range: $82,742.00 - $113,568.00
