RN Educator - Los Alamitos - FT Days
About the role
The Nursing Educator collaborates with facility/market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff. The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units while following and contributing to educational goals and visions.
Responsibilities
- Achieve educational goals and visions for assigned units
- Develop and implement educational programs including orientation, continuing education and in-services
- Contribute to the organization through councils, committees and workgroups
- Provide process, performance and service-delivery consultation
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related specialty
- 5 -years nursing experience in an acute care setting
- 3-5 years critical care experience
- Current and Active California Board of Registered Nurse License (RN)
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- 2-3 Years CVICU (Cardiac/Open-Heart Surgery) Experience preferred
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
