About the role

The Education Specialist designs and implements educational programs, including orientation and ongoing staff development, to enhance practice and patient care quality. They serve as a performance consultant, educator, and leader, collaborating with hospital teams, community partners, and executive leadership. The role involves interpreting laws, regulations, and policies related to healthcare access, delivery, and financing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as CMS, DOH, OMH, and OPWDD.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement educational programs, including orientation and staff development initiatives.
  • Enhance practice and patient care quality through training and development.
  • Serve as a performance consultant, educator, and leader for hospital teams and community partners.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, and policies related to healthcare access, delivery, and financing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, DOH, OMH, OPWDD).
  • Advocate for staff involvement in research and quality initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative environment and support staff orientation and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Education, or an allied health field.
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in critical care or pediatric nursing.
