RN - ED - Night Shift - Full Time - St Charles Parish Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, while ensuring quality patient outcomes and maintaining involvement in achieving unit and departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process in delivering patient care
• Affirms learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient groups
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources effectively, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team
• Evaluates and promotes changes to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy and communicating appropriately

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
• Current RN license in state of practice
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 30 days of hire
• Certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: Certification in Clinical Specialty Area

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment
• Good interpersonal skills
