About the Role
Join the ECMO ICU at Baylor University Medical Center as a Registered Nurse and be part of an ELSO Platinum Center of Excellence program. This role involves delivering the highest quality care for our ECMO population, with competency in all mechanical circulatory devices, including percutaneous and implantable ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and ECMO.
Our team is dedicated, efficient, and committed to providing elite extracorporeal care. The ECMO ICU patient population includes all ECLS patients receiving VA, VV, VP, VA-V, RVAD, and ECPR therapies, with disease processes such as postcardiotomy syndrome, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, pre and post heart/lung transplant, ARDS, and post cardiac arrest.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 RN care for ECMO patients.
- Manage mechanical circulatory support devices, including ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Deliver care for patients with complex disease processes such as cardiogenic shock, ARDS, and post-cardiac arrest.
- Participate in research trials and contribute to publications.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of ICU physicians, ACNPs, and transport teams.

Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
- RN – Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 1-year CVICU or SICU experience.
- BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire).
- ACLS – American Heart Association certification.
- CCRN – through AACN (required within 6 months of hire).

Pay
$15,000 sign-on bonus available to full-time candidates with 2 years of Registered Nurse experience.
