RN E6 Postpartum/Newborn Nursery (Full Time 36 Hours), West Penn Hospital

About the role

The Registered Nurse in West Penn’s Postpartum and Newborn Nursery Unit is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients. The role involves leading a team, delegating tasks, ensuring patient safety, and participating in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient and staff needs.
• Provides feedback and shares knowledge with peers and colleagues.
• Assesses patient conditions and intervenes as necessary.
• Derives culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes.
• Evaluates patient and family satisfaction and resolves concerns.
• Manages time effectively to meet assigned duties.

Requirements

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearances.

Qualifications

• Preferred certification in an area of specialty.
