RN - Dialysis Job Summary Provides specialized nursing care to patients receiving hemodialysis and other renal replacement therapies. Monitors patients throughout treatment, manages dialysis-related care, and responds to complications. Education & Experience Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required) Minimum 1 year of dialysis or nephrology nursing experience (Preferred) Licenses & Certifications Current RN license in state of practice (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required) Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification (Preferred) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred) Key Responsibilities Assesses patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments. Initiates, monitors, and terminates dialysis treatments according to established protocols. Monitors vital signs, fluid balance, vascular access, and patient response to treatment. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed. Recognizes and responds to dialysis-related complications and changes in patient condition. Provides education to patients and families regarding dialysis care, medications, diet, and treatment plans. Documents assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
