RN - Dialysis

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and provide stellar care in the Dialysis Unit. This unit cares for patients with kidney failure, including those with diabetes, hypertension, COPD, post-surgical needs, or who are non-compliant with outpatient visits. Patients are typically very ill and require intensive care and monitoring. You will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interact directly with patients and their families, and provide healthcare education as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• If in a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLSC) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of hire.
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Prior dialysis experience.
• ICU or Med/Surg experience.
• Chronic, acute, or agency experience.

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

A caregiver in this role works days from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with on-call shifts and rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
