About the role
We're seeking a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. You'll effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members; assume accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibit sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and maintain involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Affirms learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and other group or discipline needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communicating style.
Requirements
- Education: Registered nursing diploma preferred with an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience: None required, but experience directly supervising or managing others is preferred.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred.
