RN – Complex Medicine Unit

About the role

At Marymount Hospital’s 5th Floor Complex Medicine Unit, you will care for adult medical-surgical patients with multiple comorbidities in a 12-bed telemetry setting. The unit offers a fresh, energized environment where your voice and ideas matter, and where you can sharpen assessment skills, recognize subtle changes, and strengthen clinical judgment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Daily plan-of-care visits with the attending provider promote clear communication, shared goals, and a more connected experience for patients and families. This role is a strong launching point for future goals, whether you are interested in travel nursing or moving into specialty practice such as ICU, ED, or other focused areas, because you will build broad, transferable med-surg and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with multiple comorbidities.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross.
• One-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting (licensed military RN experience will be considered).

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $35.50 to $55.60 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Schedule

• Rotating day/night shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend and holiday requirements.
