RN Clinical Unit Coordinator- Labor Delivery
About the role
This is a part-time, day-shift position for an experienced Registered Nurse with strong proficiency in Labor and Delivery (L&D) knowledge and skills. The RN must demonstrate confidence and competence in serving as a Charge Nurse, exhibiting effective leadership and decision-making abilities. As a key member of the leadership team, the RN Clinical Unit Coordinator (CUC) plays an instrumental role in ensuring high-quality patient care and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for the management and provision of care given to patients by self or others who are under their supervision and in accordance with UVA Health’s policies and procedures and scope of practice.
- Serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health.
- Oversees program specific operations of the practice for the provision of effective patient care. This includes cost control, personnel management, quality improvement, direct and indirect patient care.
- Supports the Clinic Administrator in accomplishing program goals and outcomes.
- Oversees patient care processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality of care.
- Acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a specialized practice required.
- AHA Healthcare BLS required.
Additional Skills/Requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocol.
Pay
The base compensation range for this role is $35.87- $58.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
