RN Clinical Supervisor Labor & Delivery Services
Position Summary
Requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
- Supervises and directs patient care within one department/unit while on shift.
- Fosters an environment of patient and family centered care with special attention to cultural diversity and personal patient care needs.
- Models an interdisciplinary approach and collaborates with physician partners to achieve optimal operational efficiency.
- Maintains a safe, efficient quality patient care environment by monitoring personnel in performance of patient care activities.
- Promotes the advancement of the profession of nursing.
- Assesses patient care quality, introduces self to patient and families, solicits feedback on quality of nursing services and addresses any other concerns.
- Plans for staffing the next shift based on staffing requirements of the unit throughout the shift.
- Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues as needed, ensuring timely communication with managers for resolution.
- Ensures compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, unit-based performance improvement initiatives, patient and staff engagement initiatives, and productivity expectations.
- Manages the number of assigned personnel based on patient acuity and needs, and available staff resources and skills.
- Arranges or provides staff relief for meals and breaks.
- Supports MemorialCare initiatives.
- Fosters employee engagement, inspiring loyalty and leading by example.
- Creates a supportive and healthy work environment through clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.
- Participates in patient care, as needed.
- Provides input into evaluation of performance of unit employees.
- Facilitates ongoing assessment of department operations and patient care processes for opportunities to improve, participates in quality activities to improve care.
- Promotes and participates in activities designed to support organizational excellence and growth.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years experience required in an area of similar clinical expertise
- Supervisor and/or nursing leadership experience preferred
- Current California RN license
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card (BLS) required
- Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- Specialty certification preferred
- Current clinical certifications as required by the department
Pay
$66.32/hr - $99.47/hr
$10,000 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.
