RN, Clinical Practice & Education - Clinical Educator ED & ICU (Full time, Day Shift)

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Responsibilities
- Develops, coordinates, and delivers education programs to enhance the clinical competencies of nurses and other clinicians.
- Creates, revises, and evaluates educational materials, curricula, and instructional methodologies based on organizational objectives and evidence-based practices.
- Facilitates orientation, onboarding, and training programs for new hires, including nurses and other clinical staff.
- Conducts workshops, in-service sessions, and continuing education programs to support staff development and regulatory compliance.
- Designs and implements processes to assess, validate, and document clinical competencies for nursing and clinical staff.
- Collaborates with unit leaders and preceptors to ensure competency-based performance appraisals align with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations, including Joint Commission standards, to ensure compliance in all clinical education programs.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on clinical practices, providing guidance on regulatory updates, clinical policies, and procedures.
- Led initiatives to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical workflows and education programs.
- Collaborates with clinical managers and leaders to identify knowledge gaps and training needs, aligning educational initiatives with strategic goals.
- Serves as a mentor and resource for clinical staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in tailoring educational interventions to address complex clinical challenges and organizational priorities.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and strategic planning to enhance patient care outcomes and staff development.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required Master's Degree: Preferred Three years' of recent experience in an acute care setting: Preferred One year experience in clinical education or staff development: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred Other professional certifications: Preferred Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR: Required

Benefits
The estimated base pay for this position is $114,359 to $171,538. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
